Other Finishes (re) found

Some more things I found in my folders, while sorting out hard drives this past week:

NON-FREEBIE - Yikes! (Bent Creek):

Design - Yikes!
Designer - Bent Creek
Material - 14 ct Rustico Aida
Threads - as listed (DMC)

(complete with hand-painted black frame!)

NON-FREEBIE - Lighthouse (Dimensions)

Design - "Lighthouse"
Designer - Dimensions
Material - 14 ct white Aida
Threads - as listed

This is actually part of a larger chart, though I do not remember the proper name of the original ("Peaceful Retreat", perhaps?). I always liked the lighthouse best though!

FREEBIE -

I have no memory of where this came from, who designed the original, whether it started life out as a filet crochet pattern, or what. I do know it is stitched in purple thread, possibly on white aida, though it could easily be on palest pink too. I'm not even sure what has happened to this little piece, as it is not in my 'finished' box!

UNSURES -

Not sure where these two come from, though I do know that there are a couple more in the set. It also looks as though I might still have backstitch to go on the little snowman. Both are stitched on an interesting shade of red 14ct aida.

NON-FREEBIE - Betsy (front view) -

Design - Betsy (front view)
Designer - Big Color Charts (I think!)
Fabric - 14 ct white aida
Threads - as listed

I loved Betsy from the moment I laid eyes on her, and just HAD to stitch her. The booklet she comes from has a front, side and rear view of Betsy, plus a few other charts in it, including a wonderful cow-related version of a rather famous painting - American Gothic. This chart, however, is called 'Americow Gothic'. Somewhere I have started stitching it too!

More to come at a later date.

Various WIP

It's odd how, just when you least expect it, you come across things you had forgotten you had. This happened to me today when I was going through some boxes. I found an absolute stash of WIP cross stitch! So I thought it only fair to scan and upload, given I've been terribly slack with my blog this year....

1. FREEBIE - Dragon Dreams - "My Treasure"

I've been stitching this one, on and off, for a few years now. One day I will even complete it! It's stitched on 14ct pale blue aida cloth. I've used some metallic threads here and there as well.

chart can be found here:

2. FREEBIE - Lizzie Kate - "Cozy Christmas Wishes"

I remembered why I never finished stitching this one, when I found it again today. It's stitched on pink 14ct Aida, and the mug was done in Ecru or 712 (DMC), and it doesn't show up so well, so I think I abandoned it in favour of doing it again some day!

chart can be found here:

3. FREEBIE - Crochet.about.com - "Iris Flower"

This one is a filet crochet pattern I stitched a few years ago. I chose not to do the hardanger background because I'm no good at that, so I thought I would leave it as it is.

chart can be found here:

4. FREEBIE - crochet.about.com - "Ducks and Swan on a Lake" (1919)

Again, this is one that I started many years ago (about 10 or so, I think). I have had to unpick a few times, as I managed to mis-count here and there, and I'm now not sure if I stitched it in DMC 909 or DMC 699, so until I work that out, I cannot finish it! But here it is so far:

 chart can be found here:

5. NON-FREEBIE - BENT CREEK - "Yikes"

This one isn't a freebie, and is very nearly complete. I've run out of the last colour needed to finish off the second last pumpkin! Perhaps it might be finished by next Halloween. Stitched on 14 ct Rustico Aida.

6. NON-FREEBIE - LIZZIE KATE - "Dear Santa"

This one also isn't a freebie, and I'm not very happy with it. I think I will be restitching this one :-(

7. UKNOWN 1 - "Home Is Where The Heart Is"

I stitched this so long ago, I can no longer find the chart, so I have no idea who the designer is, if this is a completed cross stitch or what. Maybe when I've been through a few more boxes (I've moved three times since I started this particular chart!), I might find the rest of my charts and such, and will be able to put a designer to the pattern.

8. NON-FREEBIE - CANDAMAR DESIGNS - "Happy Marriage"

I started this in 2009 for a wedding I was attending. The person it is for will eventually get it.

9. UNKNOWN - "Trick or Treat Mermaid":

I have no idea if this is a freebie or what, though I think it might be. I don't even know what it's called, let alone who the designer is. Hopefully I will find the chart one of these days and will be able to finish it, and add the details.

I know that there are many others floating around the house that need to be found and scanned (sadly).

My New Years Resolution for 2013 is to try and finish some of these!
