New Freebie Finish

All of a sudden it feels like ages since I stitched any freebies!

This second one I have uploaded before (on the 7th of July this year), but this is a scan of it rather than a photograph.

Lizzie*Kate Finish

Just like my recent Prairie Schooler finish, this Lizzie Kate chart came from one of the 'Just Cross Stitch' magazines I recently got. To me, this doesn't look at all like a normal Lizzie Kate chart, but it definitely is, and also happens to be my first Halloween finish for the year as well!

I stitched this a few days ago, but hadn't got around to posting it online until now.

NON-FREEBIE - Lizzie*Kate - 'Double Double':

Design - 'Double Double'
Designer - Lizzie*Kate

Prairie Schooler Finish

My first Christmas finish of the year, I believe!

I felt like starting a new project a couple of days ago, and since I have recently come into possession of a bunch of old "Just Cross Stitch" magazines, I chose a Prairie Schooler chart from one of the Christmas Issues. Enjoy!

New Finishes

I've been slowly finishing small things (or starting and finishing small things), as I am working on a present for someone who is fond of oriental designs. I have a few more to go (another five, in fact, I think), but for now, here are two more. One I have stitched very recently, but in different colours, and the other you will see again soon, also in different colours. I also stitched a freebie I found yesterday on a French website. Fell in love with it at first sight, had to stitch it, did stitch it (took a couple of hours, no more, no less), and now feel the need to stitch some more of these lovely freebies from this site :-)

So, to start things off....

Threads - cheap pack of Sullivans threads (unnumbered)

2. UNKNOWN - Bridge with Cherry Blossom Tree:

More to come :-)

Updates...

My scanner died in April, and then my camera died early in May, so I've been without the ability to make a visual record of my work recently. However, now that I have a very nice new camera, I can at least rectify that slightly (still working on getting a new scanner).

So....

1. FREEBIE - Valentine

I stitched this for Valentine's Day this year, and have finally got a copy of it in its frame.

2. UNKNOWN - Geisha

Design - Geisha
Designer - Unknown
Fabric - 14 count White Aida
Threads - cheap pack of Sullivans threads (unnumbered)

Older finds (stuff made a long time ago, but recently re-found):

I have no idea where the designs came from, so I am giving dates of completion and what little bits of information I have:

1. Teddy Bear - Love Sweet Love:

Stitched for Valentines 2009

I made the bear by hand, as well as the cross stitch. I went through a phase of loving variegated threads.

2. Guardian Angel -

Stitched for Valentines 2009

Again, I have no idea who the designer is, but this one is stitched to a cushion I made by hand, not having a working sewing machine at the time.

I think that is it for the moment, but I am in the process of stitching a few other things that once I get around to photographing (or scanning, when I get a new one), I will upload.

I've recently finished a couple of things, and am including them here.

Updates - some old, some new

I've not been stitching too much recently, as I've been a bit under the weather, however I do have a couple of things to show.

Neither of these are completely finished, but it is hoped that they will be by the end of the month.

1. FREEBIE - Mosey N Me - Ten Lords-A-Leapin':

Design - Ten Lords-a-Leapin'
Designer - Mosey N Me
Fabric - 14 count Ecru
Threads - DMC (as per chart)
French knots exchanged for Beads

Obviously it isn't finished yet - just have a little backstitch and the beadwork to go. Never liked french knots, always preferred beads, so they must be added to the snowman, and to the lord-a-leapin'.

2. NON-FREEBIE - Cross Stitcher Magazine's Book of Country Flowers - Early Purple Orchid:

I started this way back in March 2010 - Four years ago, roughly. Still not finished, but hopefully soon to be, as I started it initially for my Grandmother's birthday. Given she will be 90 in a matter of weeks, it's about time I finished it, don't you think?

So this is where I am up to at the moment. I still need to get an Easter card stitched for my boyfriend, plus I have some other stitching that needs (or wants or is calling out to me) to be done, so perhaps I might have something of a stitching session soon, to try and get through some of the backlog!

Happy Valentine's Day

Here's what I stitched for my boyfriend.

It is a freebie that I have wanted to stitch for years now, but never got around to.

Design - Valentine
Designer - The Primitive Hare
Fabric - 14 count ecru
Thread - 355 or 349 (DMC. Chart calls for 355, though I think I used 349 in preference)

Easter Stitching

My second Valentine's Design has been finished, but I can't show it yet as it is on its way overseas to my boyfriend.

I can, however, show you the first of my Easter Stitching.

In keeping with what appears to be a Freebie theme, here's another. This time by Mosey 'n Me.

FREEBIE - Mosey N Me - 'Magic Happens':

Design - Magic Happens
Designer - Mosey 'n Me
Fabric - 14 count Ecru
Threads - DMC (as listed in chart)
Black beads for eyes

I'm seriously considering stitching another of the freebies listed on the Mosey 'n Me page, as they look like a lot of fun.

Happy Valentine's Day (almost)

One New Year's Resolution I made this year was to get things stitched in a timely manner. Another was to try and finish off some more of my U.F.O's.

Starting on the first seems easier than tackling the second, however, so in the spirit of things, here is the start of my Valentine's stitching for 2014:

FREEBIE - The Stitcherhood - 2014 Valentine Freebie

Design - 2014 Valentine Freebie
Designer - The Stitcherhood
Fabric - 14 Count Ecru
Colours - 3835, 3832, 3816

As is typical of me, I chose to use different DMC colours to the ones suggested (or in this case, one suggested), but I think it came out okay. This is the second freebie I have stitched from this designer, and if I remember correctly, I changed the colours slightly in that one too!

For anyone interested, my other The Stitcherhood freebie can be found here:

My next stitchery will also be a freebie, and will also be of the Valentines flavour. Stay tuned!

Happy New Year

My blog is four years old today, it seems. Four years ago today I started my blog with a 'Happy New Year' cross stitch design (a freebie - check here.). So once again, I wish you a Happy New Year with another freebie New Year's pattern:

FREEBIE - New Year's Eve:
